Google stops Supervision of Students Gmail Accounts

Google will no longer scan students Gmail messages or use Apps for education for advertising purposes.

More than 20 million students worldwide use Gmail for education purposes. Director of Google for education, Bram Bout says that previously all the mails and docs related to students were scanned and later used for advertising purposes.

Google was sued by a group of 9 students. Their reason was the violation of educational and student privacy. EPIC (Electronic Privacy Information Centre) also took action against the education department of Google.
