Caption Images using Google

Having problems giving caption to your Facebook pictures??? Google it!! The search engine turned leading Technology giant Google has the answers like every time with this new technology called Neural Image Caption (NIC) Generator.

The Neural Image Caption generator uses a unique algorithm to convert images into words using CNN (Convolutional Neural Network) . The approach is to test how often an object is near to, or close to the same object or any different object in the picture.
These words will be re-ordered into a sentence by  word to word relationships. e.g Two words like King-Man with woman would be taken as Queen which would be true for all languages.  These sentences could be then translated into other languages with the help of Google's existing language translation services.

Instead of describing the image in words. The algorithm would translate the image into Vector Spaces  first, that represents the relationships between words. The vectors could be then plunged into Google's existing translating service to produce a caption in English or in any other language whatsoever. The study includes a data set of 100,000 images and their captions to understand the object to object relationships.

To check the efficiency of the system human evaluaters were used which ranked the captions generated by the system. The results show that the new system, which Google calls Neural Image Caption, fares well.
Using a well known data set of images called PASCAL, Neural image Capture clearly outperformed other automated approaches.
"It is clear that as the data set of image description increases in numbers,
so will the performance of NIC" said The Google team.

But still this is another day where humans are the epitome of intelligence.
